BEYOND THE WORDS
+ ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Beyond the Words grew from my belief that communication is much more than spoken language. A look, a gesture, a moment of attention or even silence can express feelings and create a connection between people.
The group of figures suggests a conversation that continues on a deeper level. Their overlapping forms bring different thoughts, emotions and presences together, creating a sense of closeness that does not need to be explained through words.
I deliberately leave the figures without conventional facial features. They are not portraits of particular people, but symbolic presences through which I wanted to explore those subtle exchanges that often take place between us without being spoken.
With this painting, I wanted to give importance to the space between people — to the emotions, thoughts and understanding that can pass from one person to another simply through being present, listening and sharing the same moment.
