IMAGINE A STORY
+ ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Imagine a Story explores the moment in which an image becomes the beginning of a story. I wanted to create a scene that does not explain everything, but instead leaves enough space for imagination to complete what is missing.
The interconnected figures and the luminous atmosphere create a setting that can be interpreted in different ways. Rather than telling one specific narrative, the painting invites each viewer to construct a personal one.
Watercolor is particularly suited to this idea because its transparency allows light, color and forms to remain open and suggestive. The contrast between vivid colors and softer passages creates an atmosphere that feels both present and imagined.
For me, the work is about the creative space that opens between what an artist creates and what the viewer brings to it through memory, imagination and personal experience.
