SOLAR REVERIE
+ ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Solar Reverie explores the moment when thought turns into imagination. The two figures look towards the sun as though they were absorbed in a possibility, a memory or a dream that exists beyond the immediate surroundings.
I chose the upward orientation of the figures because looking towards light can suggest aspiration and the desire to imagine something beyond the present. The sun therefore becomes a symbol of inspiration as much as a visual source of warmth.
The strong blue, red and golden areas create a simple but expressive setting in which the figures remain the central emotional presence. The painting is about allowing the mind to wander, to dream and to find inspiration in what lies beyond the everyday.
