THE GOLDEN WONDER
+ ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The Golden Wonder grew from my fascination with those moments when something ordinary suddenly becomes filled with wonder. I wanted to create an atmosphere in which the sun is not simply part of the landscape, but becomes a source of warmth, energy and fascination.
The central sun is enhanced with 23-karat gold leaf, which I chose not simply as a decorative element, but to give this symbol of light a special presence. The gold catches the light and adds another dimension to the painting, suggesting something precious and almost magical.
The stylized figures gather around this radiant presence, sharing the same moment of attention and discovery. Their simplified forms allow the focus to remain on the experience itself rather than on individual identities.
Watercolor gives the composition a delicate transparency, while the geometric forms create structure and rhythm. The panoramic format allows the scene to unfold as a shared experience.
For me, The Golden Wonder is about that special moment when we pause, look at something with renewed eyes and allow ourselves to feel wonder again.
