LADIES
+ ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Ladies explores the quiet sense of companionship that develops when women come together and share a space. I was interested in representing this connection without creating individual portraits, allowing the figures to stand for a broader experience of female presence, conversation and shared moments.
The overlapping profiles create a sense of closeness while still preserving the individuality of each figure. Decorative elements such as the earrings become small signs of character within the larger group.
The combination of curved forms, geometric areas and warm colors gives the composition a light and lively rhythm. The painting is ultimately about being together: the balance between individual identity and the sense of belonging that can emerge within a group.
