THE ROUND TABLE
+ ABOUT THE ARTWORK
In The Round Table, my intention was to bring a group of figures together around a table, creating a space where they could meet, exchange ideas and engage in dialogue. The round shape naturally suggests equality and openness, with no single person placed at the center.
The idea behind the painting is expressed in the words “One for all, and all for one.” I imagined the table as a symbol of cooperation, mutual support and the strength that can emerge when people come together.
The figures are deliberately stylized, allowing them to represent people in a universal sense rather than specific individuals. Their arrangement around the table creates a feeling of shared purpose, as though they had gathered to discuss, listen and find a way forward together.
At the center of the table, I intentionally left the object undefined. Rather than deciding what should occupy this space, I wanted to leave that choice to the viewer. Each person can imagine an object, an idea or something meaningful to them at the center of the gathering.
For me, this open space is an important part of the painting: it transforms the table into more than a physical meeting place and invites the viewer to become part of the conversation.
